How To Use Microsoft Office 2010 Free For 6 Months Without Activation

I have already written about downloading Microsoft Office 2010 before. Normally Microsoft Office comes with a 30 day trial. After the trial period expires, Microsoft Office 2010 has to be purchased in order to use it.
Rearming is a method to extend the trial of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office up to one month. Previously I have written about using Windows 7 for 120 days using the rearming technique. Today I want to write about rearming Microsoft Office 2010 so that it can be used beyond the trial limit of 30 days.
microsoft office 2010

When the trial period of 30 days is about to expire, just run command prompt with elevated permissions and then go to the following folder:
C:\\Program Files\\Common Files\\microsoft shared\\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform
Run OSPPREARM.EXE from the above folder and it will extend the trial of Microsoft Office 2010 by 30 days. You can use this rearm technique 5 times in total making the total days to run the trial to almost 6 months.

  6. Marsha

    It worked well for me… But, I accidently did it 4-5 times before I realized it worked… does that mean I used up my 5 times already??? I sure hope not 🙁
    Please let me know …. howver am grateful I was able to extend regardless….:)

    Thanks man. Worked perfectly for me too.
    I didn’t use the command prompt. I navigated through the GUI folders, then right clicked and used “Run as Administrator” and it had the same effect.
    Now I can use Office a bit longer until I can either cough up the cash or find an alternative.

    I do not have any such exe at that location. I am using Win7 (64bit). I even checked the ProgramFiles(x86), but still no such exe at that location. Please help.

  9. Xi

    I am using Win7 (64bit) as well. I find it in that folder
    “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform”

  10. Armin

  11. x

  12. loveMicrosoft

  14. Marius

    Ok, I have the following problem, I am no computer genius, but when I open my CMD, its starts of by : C:Users\Marius> I typed in what you said one should, in every way possible, but it keeps on giving me the message ‘C:\Program is not recognized as an internakl or external command’ operable progrem or batch file. What does this mean? My 30 days is already over, and can no longer operate my Office 2010. I am running win 7 32bit.
    Thanx

  15. Sanix

    @Marius
    You should type the following:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform

  16. Shulak

    In Windows 64 bit, the files are seperated between “Program Files” for the +5 bit software and “Program Files (x86)” for 32 bit software. Office is 32 bit. I found the OSPPREARM.EXE file there. Hope it helps someone

  17. Sanix

    @Shulak
    Thanks a lot for explanation. Maruis has confirmed that he has finally got everything right and it has worked for him.
    @Sanix Sux
    Please let me know the exact error you’re encountering so that we may be able to solve it for you too.

  18. aa

    does this work on office 2007?

    1. Sanix

      @aa
      I haven’t tried it on Office 2007 and can’t try it right now as I have already got an activated version of Office 2007. I’ll try it on another computer and then let you know.

  24. rastadreadlockz

    for windows 7, you have two program files. one is with (x86). try to look for OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform in both program files. i found the OSPPREARM.EXE and it works just fine. so remember: C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform and there are two program files in the C:drive. good luck;)

  25. funnyguy

    Is it possible to repeat that procedure after 6 months to get new 6 months? Otherwise it would be rather useless…

  26. Eva

    Ok, I did it & it worked for 30 days. Woo hoo!! But then, I forgot when the 30 days were up & now it’s saying it’s “unlicensed product” and won’t let me change anything. I tried to rearm it per your instructions (cuz it worked the 1st time) but now it doesn’t work. Can you please help me???? I need this software very much!!! It sucks that Microsoft charges so damn much for the stuff that EVERYBODY needs & uses!!!!! Thanks

  27. coné

    for me it also doesnt work, I dont get a error ah well it was worth to try
    I got windows 7×64 with 32bit office i tryed both
    C:Program FilesCommon Filesmicrosoft sharedOfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatformOSPPREARM.EXE
    and
    C:Program FilesCommon Filesmicrosoft sharedOfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatformOSPPREARM.EXE

  28. Vivek

    Worked for me.. gr8

  29. john

    yah it worked but only be careful when clicking the rearm .bat coz you might forget how many times you’ve already clicked and consume the five allowance for the activation.
    i used two chances already. lol 🙂

  30. Shrey

    I am having issues installing office 2010// system error 25004
    (this is most likely due to a previous office 2010 trials being installed.

    I’ve tried every step listed on here and I can’t get it to work.
    When I look in both sets of program files (Win 7 64 bit) I don’t even see the OSPPREARM.EXE file. Am I missing something?
    Thanks!

  39. coné

    my advies if it doesnt work for you, do like me there are some good cracks around that still work just use 1 of those.
    Thats what I did.

  40. missloopy

    i keep getting the same “c:\program is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program, or batch file.”
    any help?

    1. Solomon

      you missed the cd part. the command line is “cd C:blahblahOSPPREARM.EXE” without quotes

  41. Richard

    Missloopy
    Try to use quotes! Just copy and paste this in run prompt (with quotes):
    “C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform\OSPPREARM.EXE”
    Geo
    Once your windows are 64 bits, maybe you need to access another path. Try this:
    “C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform\OSPPREARM.EXE”

  42. Mayank
