How To Manually Uninstall Windows Live Essentials

Automated things always have a special place in the computer. We love the computer to do all the work for us. But there are times when even the computer isn’t able to handle our requests because after all, computers don’t think. They are just programmed intelligently to work intelligently.

I have already given the direct links to download Windows Live Essentials including all the languages in which Windows Live Essentials is available. The method of installing and uninstalling components of Windows Live Essentials is very simple and even a newbie can also install and uninstall the components. But sometimes Windows Live Essentials just refuses to uninstall or simply disappears from the Add/Remove Programs list (Programs and Features in case of Windows Vista and Windows 7). In this case, we need to manually uninstall Windows Live Essentials. Here are the steps to uninstall Windows Live Essentials manually:

  • Go to Start –> Run (Windows Key + R)
  • Type the following:
    %programfiles%\\Windows Live\\Installer
  • Please note that if you are using 64 bit Operating System then you have to type the following:
    %programfiles(x86)%\\Windows Live\\Installer
  • A folder will open. Open wlarp.exe and select “Remove one or more Windows Live Programs“. (Please note that to uninstall Windows Live Essentials completely, you need to check all the products listed on the window.)
  • Select the components that you want to install and then click on Uninstall.

And what please, when wlarp.exe just wouldn’t start (no reaction whatsoever) as in my case ? It is so since I uninstalled WL, but couldn’t still install WLE 2011 (error: 0x800700b7, source: logger) and did then a system restore.
