Previously I wrote about how to recover a corrupted Windows user profile. Now I want to write about how to move Windows user profile to another location. There are times when you will want to do this. I wanted to do this because the Windows drive was almost full and I wanted to move the Windows user profile to another location for creating space in the Windows drive.
Profile Relocator is a very good tool to automate the process of moving the Windows user profile. It provides a step by step way to allow relocating of the Windows user profile directory.
The author puts up a note that this application is built for new installations of Windows and it does not move the existing profiles. What you can do is to create a new user on the same machine and relocate the existing profile to the new user.
Profile Relocator is compatible with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. It requires Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0+ to work.
