Download Windows 7 Free

Windows 7 is a hot topic nowadays because the final version of Windows 7 will be launched in a few days most probably on 22nd of October. But the RC and other versions of Windows 7 can be downloaded even now so that you can test it and purchase it if you find it useful.
Windows 7 RC version was available for download from Microsoft’s Technet site but it’s unavailable now. But the enterprise version of Windows 7 can be downloaded even now. But first you should make sure that all your hardware is compatible with Windows 7 and that your PC is suitable for Windows 7 Upgrade. You can download Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and test your system for possible compatibility problems.

Here are the general system requirements of Windows 7:

  • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
  • 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
  • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

If you want to download Windows 7 free Enterprise edition which is available as a 90 day trial, you can download it from here:

  1. I don’t see a download link on that page. Is there another source? Is this just the RC that was released previously that the activation crack will work on?

  2. Sanix,
if i could I would not have posted that I couldn’t see a download link on that page. perhaps you could be a tad more specific?

  3. Squirly, thanks alot for pointing out the problem. At first I couldn’t understand what you meant. When I went through the link, Microsoft had stopped the hotlinking of the file. That’s why it was not opening. Now I have given the correct link where you have to login with your Windows live account to access the download. You can download Windows 7 Enterprise edition from the following link:

  4. Fabulous. That works now. I already have the Ultimate version from hosting a Houseparty but this will be good to have for ‘test’ *koff* machines. 🙂
