Download Notepad++ 5.9.3

Notepad++ is a very advanced text editor which can serve as a notepad alternative in Windows. Notepad++ 5.9.3 has been released recently and is available for download. There are quite a number of improvements in the new version. But there are two major improvements. Let’s talk about the major improvements first.
The first improvement is the vertical file switcher. Programmers need more vertical space rather than horizontal when going through the source code. The vertical space is much more limited in today’s widescreen displays. So now you can use the vertical file switcher to hide tabs and manage the file switcher as a sidebar. This will give more vertical space to the developers. This option can be enabled in preferences.
The second major feature is that recent file list can be set in a submenu and is totally customizable. You can define your preference in Preference Dialog, under “New Document / Default Directory” tab.
Other changes made in the new version of Notepad++ 5.9.3 are:

1. Update Scintilla to 2.27.
2. Add active folding area highlighting feature (only for box and circle mode).
3. Detect if Scintilla is absent.
4. Add 2 plugins messages NPPM_GETLANGUAGENAME & NPPM_GETLANGUAGEDESC.
5. Fix wrong result returned by NPPM_GETLANGUAGENAME.
