Create a Shortcut for Locking the Computer Screen in Windows 7

There are numerous ways by which you can lock your computer screen in Windows 7 but the most efficient and quickest way to lock your computer screen is by using a keyboard shortcut. Win+L is the keyboard shortcut which is used to lock the computer screen in Windows. Amongst all, there is   one additional way by which you can lock your computer screen and that is to create a shortcut for this phenomenon in Windows 7 as well as in Windows XP and Windows Vista too.

Listed below are simple steps to create a shortcut for locking the computer screen.
  • Right-click on the your computer desktop and point to New.
  • Click on Shortcut from the menu.
  • Type in “rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation” in the shortcut text box.

  • Click Next.
  • Give any name to your shortcut.

  • Click Finish.
You are done with creating a shortcut, now all you need to do is to click this shortcut to lock the computer screen.
