How To Restore Previously Open Folders On System startup in Windows

Recently Loki asked me about the problem that the folders which are not closed on system shutdown automatically show up while starting the system again. Here is his question:

And what about the issue with all the folders you don’t close yourself upon system shut down (you simply press Shut Down and look like Windows closing all applications and open folders and then turns off) opening again on system startup? This one is really driving me mad… Any cure?

Actually there is a Windows setting for this. This can be easily configured in Windows. Just go to the following path:
Tools –> Folder Options –> View
Look for “Restore previous folder windows at logon
If you want the open folders to be restored/reopened after your restart your system then check this box. If you don’t want, just uncheck it.
