Microsoft is planning to change the maintenance model for the versions of Windows Server. When Windows Server 2022 is released, the Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) will be the only release channel available.
According to Microsoft, Windows Server will be updated every two or three years, and it will be supported for five years before it can be extended for five more years.
“This channel can be installed with Server Core or with Server with Desktop Experience installation options, a combination of systems long maintenance options and functional stability. We will continue to provide security and non-security updates to customers through the Long Term Servicing Channel, but we will not be able to provide new features and functions to customers through this channel. “
Since the previous support information about the server versions has been updated, the Extended Support information has been changed to a non-available status for the Semiannual Channel. There used to be a note that said “Check before applying”. Individual support data can be viewed here so that you can familiarize yourself with it.
